The Mortimer History Society is now a registered charity with registration number 1171392. This means that the Society will be able to benefit financially by claiming gift aid from the government on subscriptions and donations from all UK taxpayers who are eligible and agree. We’ll be sending out more details about this later.

Saturday 11th March 2017- AGM
The AGM is to be held at the Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre near Hereford on . At that meeting we’ll be electing trustees for the coming year. The constitution requires the secretary to publish in the AGM papers the names of all those nominated as trustees. All existing trustees are willing to stand again. After the AGM. Barbara Wright is going to talk about her work in transcribing and translating the ‘Black Book of Wigmore‘, an amazing cartulary containing many documents and abstracts relating to Mortimer land holdings, compiled for Edmund Mortimer, 3rd Earl of March and his wife Philippa, Countess of Ulster.
